Meet Sociable People on Twitter that are in Your City

One of my personal favourite ways to use Formulists is to help me discover and network with locals I do not know yet but who are frequently social with the same people I talk to a lot.

The idea here is that if you are someone that has talked a bunch of times with many different Twitter friends of mine, then you are likely a sociable person at the periphery of my Twitter network worth getting to know and potentially following.

A Formulists list that helps you find and start engaging just these people is super easy and quick to make. Here’s how:

1. Choose to add a “Who-My-Friends-Talk-To” list from the “Expand Your Network” category on the Formulists.com website.

2. Then click on the tab that says “Profile Filter Options” and type in your city in the location filter so that you keep only locals in the list.  If you want to include more than one city or your city has different ways people say it (ex: “NY” or “New York”), write in the different names with “or” between each name.

3. (optional) In my case, I want to keep only people that have talked to multiple friends of mine multiple times.  To change the setting for this, go to the first tab, “Who-My-Friends-Talk-To” list options and change the settings under “Cut-Offs for Frequency and Age of Interactions”.

Once you are done tweaking your list, hit “Create List” at the bottom.  Within minutes your new list should appear on your Twitter homepage and you can start networking with new and sociable locals!
